Work begins...

1 min read
Alright, well...

Work has begun on our first demo - riffs, melodies, choruses, verses and solos are all being recorded and thrown around.

Basically we're just roughing out the general ideas of songs at the moment.

Currently it looks like we'll end up with around 8 songs as a target, but with no shortage of ideas should the reception of these songs be a good one.

After guitars are down, drums will come courtesy of a 13 year old (younger brother of guitarist.) Who is one of the most amazingly talented drummers i've heard, he regularly practices by drumming perfectly to songs from Slipknot, RATM, Nightwish etc.. Even down to the drum solos. It's quite a site to behold when he plays Psychosocial - perfectly.

Anyways lyrics will slowly develop now, so currently were looking at having a full demo disc available for download by Christmas 2008.

Anyways I best get to work, 7 day shift roster ahoy!

Take it easy all,

10am.

Heylllllo!

A big hello to anyone still crawling around this side of deviantART.

It's been a while, a while indeed but im kicking around here still - focusing more on my musical work than visual art for now but hopefully I should have a bit of that to share with you all in good time.

For now, just to let you know im alive, back and warming up for some more fun.

Great to see you all again!

Cheers,
10am.

Hey all,

Just letting you know I've decided to leave - I just don't have the time or inspiration to do this anymore... I dunno, I may be back sometime in the future, but for now it's time to leave.

Cheers for all the support, I love you all.

Yours Truly,

Welcome to the final issue of the Third Dimension which will be posted by me, from now on it will be thanks to third-dimension (Of which I am the founder/creator)

But fear not, The Third Dimension will go on and continue to serve up the best of the best 3D artworks from the past week.

We will also feature an interview, product reviews and in some cases small tutorials. This should make The Third Dimension the one stop shop for all your 3D art needs!

But for now here's this weeks features. And I hope you enjoy the bonus three, making this issue a feature of 10 artworks!

Such a catastrophic image - Interoitum by edlo is an excellent example of volumetric lighting which works to create such a deep and entrancing image.

At first I was opposed to featuring this, but as I kept looking at it I fell more and more in love with it, such wonderful colours and a truly unique render make this well worthy of it's place in this week's features.

This piece of art just made my jaw drop and crack on the floor - such dreamy lighting and splendid use of reflections. I would most likely kill to have a desk that looks like this!

Now I am a big fan of explosion renders and this piece just takes the cake and turns it into a behemoth tasty monster black forest cake! Such sexy use of colour and texture make this a piece worthy of desktop sexyness!

Being a part time DJ, when I saw this piece I swore I saw elements of Vinyl records and needles in this artwork. In other words I instantly fell in love with this piece and it's colour and shape.

A wonderfully well crafted render which in the end creates the illusion of reality. I would pay anything for a house like this - wonderfully atmospheric and a pleasure to look at.

I just love this take on the old school muscle cars. Beautifully presented in a wonderfully urban background.

I would be surprised if this artist does not get picked up by a design company for pre-vis work - splendidly crafted environment with immaculate attention to detail.

As I have been browsing the 3D gallery these past few days, this piece kept sticking out to me. I love the way it is crafted and this second version looks completely stunning compared to the first, with lovely subtle colours.

A fan of graffiti myself, this piece to me just screams sexy! The dirty texture of the background just fits perfectly in the idea of the image, gorgeous colours top off this awesome image!

Well, that wraps it up for this issue - be sure to add third-dimension to keep up to date with all future updates.

All the best,

Welcome back for another week of The Third Dimension.

Sadly, due to a lack of time and a broken finger I haven't had time to do a featured artist interview, but I promise I will have that for you again next week!

In two weeks time the magazine will commence to have it's own user name on deviantART where you will be able to keep track of future updates in the magazine, as well as track down back issues.

Well, for this weeks art we have the following gorgeous images, selected and finalised by a panel of 5 people, being myself, A renowned Australian artist and 3 Fine Arts students.

This is a very atmospheric piece, with excellent use of colours to create a very menacing feel. Excellent work!

Theres something so abstract about this abstract that I couldn't help but fall in love, a gorgeous piece of art!

Soldier by Mark-JE

My jaw dropped when I saw this, excellent texture work and a very menacing piece of modeling make Soldier by Mark-JE an artwork to be reckoned with!

Not so sure about peace here, this artwork reminds me of the long halls of mental institutes, an eerie render with a lot of atmosphere and skill, beautiful work!

Good Morning by pixelpriester

Although this image suffers slightly from a bit too much bump mapping, the detail and care taken overbalance the slight sketchiness and make this a wonderful way to start the day!

Mobius by zanidip

This just boggled my mind, stunningly well done with the focus levels just right, perfect modeling, lighting and texturing make this artwork a pleasure to behold.

If you thought this quick version was impressive, you should check out the rest of this artists gallery - gorgeous and inspiring work all around!

Well that wraps it up for another week, I hope you enjoyed this selection of the 3D gallery and please show your support to keep The Third Dimension going - we're trying to beat 41 Fav's for this issue!
